* Tru-Oil gun stock finish is a natural wood oil finish that protects and enhances the beauty of fine wood - gun stocks or furniture!
There is no better oil finish than the Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil! It has been the professional’s choice for gunstock (or furniture) finishing for more than 30 years. Its unique blend of linseed and other natural oils dries fast, resists water damage and will not cloud, yellow or crack with age. Excellent as a sealer for under butt plates, recoil pads and in inletted actions to prevent stock damage. Use the liquid for fast filling of the pores. Tru-Oil penetrates deeply and forms a tough, clear, hard finish that protects and enhances the beauty of wood. The finish can be polished to a high gloss or "cut" for a satin finish.
Easy-to-use Tru-Oil brings out the warm, natural beauty of a wood stock and gives it the look of a deep, rich, hand-rubbed finish without the hassle. It requires an average of only three coats and dries so fast - 90 to 120 minutes per coat - that a stock can be finished in one day! Tru-Oil is a purified triple-processed blend of all-natural oils that penetrates into the grain to seal out moisture. Won’t yellow or cloud the grain, and the surface becomes harder and tougher. Apply multiple coats to produce a high-gloss finish, or for a more subdued satin finish, cut back the gloss with fine steel wool or rubbing compound. Minor scuffs and marks on a stock finished with Tru-Oil are easily fixed: just rub the spot gently with a pad moistened with Tru-Oil.

Birchwood Casey® - Cleaning and Maintenance
There’s a lot more to firearm safety than knowing your target and keeping your muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Gun safety begins before you chamber a round and even before you step foot in the field or range. It begins with equipment that is properly maintained and cared for. Gun safety begins with a clean gun.
A clean firearm is a safe firearm. A dirty, fouled action can cause jams, ejection problems, mis-feeds and even misfires. Always refer to the manufacturer’s manual before taking apart your firearm. Use the proper cleaning solutions for best results.
Heavy oils can gum up parts and cause jamming and ejection problems. Especially in cold weather, and general use, lubricants can cause unforeseen complications. All Birchwood Casey products are specially formulated for use with firearms and the environments they are used in. |
